Working From Home
Faculty & Staff can connect to their office computer from home by setting up a Virtual Private Network. You'll find the instructions on how to do this below. You will want to make sure you leave your computer powered on when you leave the law school or you will not be able to connect to your office computer.
STEP 1: VPN (Virtual Private Network)
ASU has decided to use a new VPN. Securemote will no longer be supported.
The Program will have to be removed before the new one can work. You can skip this part if you have never connected to the ASU network before.
SecuRemote REMOVAL process:
-
Go to the control panel and click on Add and Remove Programs

-
Highlight and Check Point VPN-1 Secure Remote and select Change/Remove

-
This Box will pop up. Select OK to remove

-
Choose reboot and select finish

Installing Cisco Any Connect VPN:
-
Open your internet browser and type http://sslvpn.asu.edu/ into the address bar.
-
You will be redirected to an ASU login page. Sign in with your ASURITE.

-
The Installation will automatically begin. You may see a drop down window indicating it wants approval to install an Active X script. Select YES.

-
You will get a confirmation page indicating it has been installed and you can close the website. It will immediately connect the VPN. You will see it in your system tray. It has two green squares and a golden lock.

-
You're Connected!
-
To disconnect, right click the system tray icon and select QUIT.
STEP 2: Connecting to your computer
-
Download our Remote Desktop Connection file.
-
Extract the file to your Desktop.
-
Right click the new file and select EDIT

-
You will need to replace the XXX with your work PC name (Ex: 553 or EMP30)
-
User Name will be your ASURITE (Ex: Ccaswell)
-
Click Save so you don't have to do this part again.
IMPORTANT!!!
You MUST have the Cisco VPN software running to connect to your office pc!
