The College of Law is home to 37 Native American students, one of the largest Native populations at any law school. These students represent 28 tribes from across the country.
ASU ILP students have great opportunities. Students have a large selection of Indian Law courses taught by top Indian Law faculty. The ILP students have practical courses and clinic experiences to get them ready for practice. Students have several opportunities throughout the year to interact with local attorneys because of the ILP's close relationships with alumni, the Indian Law Section of the State Bar of Arizona, and the Arizona Chapter of the Native American Bar Association. Students can easily explore the Indian law field due to the great externship and internship options available at ASU.
The ASU law students have an active Native American Law Students Association (NALSA) and participate in the National Native American Law Students Association. ASU NALSA hosts an annual golf tournament, participates in pro bono activities, mentors incoming students, and is the co-sponsor of the ILP/NALSA graduation. Between the ASU chapter of NALSA and the ILP, students have an instant network to support them academically, professionally and socially.
