 Center News

Professors Aaron Fellmeth and Doug Sylvester are seeking graduate student assistants to participate in an empirical study of the international law of war.  The study involves detailed research into one or more civil or international armed conflicts in foreign states involving accidental civilian deaths.  The research involved includes reviewing newspaper, UN, and non-governmental organization reports and interviewing government and military officials and journalists to gather data on the causes and consequences of accidental civilian casualties.  The research gives an opportunity to learn about how military commanders make targeting decisions in international armed conflicts.

Applicants must speak a foreign language fluently and be willing to commit to the project for one year at approximately 10-15 hours per week with flexible hours.  Pay is at the standard GSA rate.  Those interested should forward their CVs to both Professors Fellmeth and Sylvester.
