IT Department Guiding Principles

“This is what we believe.”

We believe in our commitment to the students, faculty, and staff of Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law.  We are also committed to our co-workers within the IT department.  This means:

  1. ·      We will follow through and ensure the task is finished.
  2. ·      We will not quit on a task until we are sure our customer is satisfied.
  3. ·      We will communicate frequently and effectively, so our customers are informed about our progress and our IT co-workers are “in the loop.”
  4. ·      We will document our processes so that we can be more efficient at solving problems.
  5. ·      We will set appropriate priorities, specifically that classrooms come first.

We believe in pursuing innovation as we do our tasks.  This means:

  1. ·      We will work on increasing our efficiency, working specifically on refining our customer processes.
  2. ·      We will also look outside, keeping up with current trends and technologies, so that we can provide new and better services.
  3. ·      We will find new ways to train faculty and staff, tailoring training to specific needs.

We believe in respect.  This includes respecting the students, faculty, and staff, as well as our IT co-workers.  This means:

  1. ·      We will build and nurture relationships with our customers and each other.
  2. ·      We will approach all situations with an openness and a willingness to share.
  3. ·      We will actively work toward building trust with our customers and each other.
