Things to Do: The Arts

Arizona seems to attract artists and this is reflected in the number and variety of museums and fine and performing art exhibitions that are available to the public. Here are a few that might be of interest:

At ASU:

  • The ASU Art Museum - Called the the single most impressive venue for contemporary art in Arizona" by Art in America magazine. Located on campus off Mill Avenue.
  • Mainstage at ASU - Featuring the music, theatre, and dance of faculty and students, as well as world-class musical and dance artists and traveling Broadway shows.
  • Museums at ASU - ASU has over 30 museums on campus or located nearby, and with displays on everything from anthropology to sports memorabilia, there is surely something here for everyone.

In the Phoenix Metro Area:

Live Music:

Many of the Mill Avenue establishments feature a variety of live music acts. See the Mill Avenue District website to see who is playing during your visit.

Downtown Phoenix, known as Copper Square, also has many great nightclubs (and restaurants) with live music.
