Supreme Court1Professors Paul Bender and James Weinstein, and third-year law student Keith Hilzendeger were included in a December 8, 2003 Arizona Republic article. The trio are part of a team of attorneys and law students working on an appeal of Arizona's gay marriageban. The case was filed by Don Standhardt and Tod Keltner, who are seeking the right to marry and jointly adopt children.  Their appeal argues that the ban is unconstitutional, unfairly punishing gay couples and their children.  In October of this year, the Arizona Court of Appeals ruled the marriage ban constitutional.
