DEAN, THE SANDRA DAY O'CONNOR COLLEGE OF LAW ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY

The Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law seeks a dean to lead its continued growth in prominence and impact. The College of Law enjoys close, productive relationships with Arizona's legal, business and political leaders. It is a college on the rise, with recent improvements on virtually every metric and strong potential for further growth. The college has prominent, productive faculty, with exceptional interdisciplinary strength in fields such as philosophy, psychology and genetics, as well as a strong commitment to teaching, public service, and community outreach. The Center for Law, Science and Innovation was the first and is the largest such program in the country; the Indian Legal Program is a national leader in Indian and tribal law. The college offers ten clinics in diverse fields including immigration, Indian law, mediation and technology development, as well as robust pro bono and externship programs. In addition to the JD, the college offers LLM degrees in biotechnology, tribal law, and global legal studies, a Master of Legal Studies, and joint JD/MBA, JD/PhD and JD/MD degrees, the latter with the Mayo Clinic.

The College of Law is one of 16 colleges and schools at Arizona State University, one of the nation's premier public research universities. ASU currently enrolls over 70,000 students from across the nation and globe on four campuses in the Phoenix area. The dean of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law reports to the provost. This full-time, 12-month appointment has a preferred start date of July 1, 2012. Salary is commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will possess an academic or professional record that merits appointment as a full professor. This must include a JD degree. Experience as an associate dean or dean of a law school is preferred.
