The new Government Contracting mentoring team, led by Quarles and Brady attorney David Blackledge, met during the “Happy Hour” at Pita Jungle in Tempe, October 21. In January, the team plans to meet at the Quarles and Brady offices to hear recent law school graduates talk about their early experiences with the law firm.
At the meeting, Blackledge discussed the top ten things to know about government contracting, including the general structure of the government contracting process, the parties involved, special issues such as small business opportunities, and post-award compliance issues. He also addressed contract negotiations, including key contracting terms that a business should negotiate with special care. The group engaged in active questioning throughout the presentation.
