About the Journal

Jurimetrics, The Journal of Law, Science, and Technology (ISSN 0897-1277), published quarterly, is the journal of the American Bar Association Science & Technology Law Section and the Center for Law, Science and Innovation.

Jurimetrics is a forum for the publication and exchange of ideas and information about the relationships between law, science, and technology in all areas, including:

  • Physical, life, and the empirical social, and behavioral sciences;
  • Engineering, aerospace, communications and computers;
  • Logic, mathematics, statistics, and quantitative methods;
  • Use of science and technology in law practice, litigation, adjudication, legislation, and court and agency administration;
  • Legal regulation and policy implications of science and technology.

Jurimetrics was first published in 1959 under the leadership of Layman Allen as Modern Uses of Logic in Law (MULL). The current name was adopted in 1966. Jurimetrics is the oldest journal of law and science in the United States, and it enjoys a circulation of more than 8,000, which includes all members of the ABA Science & Technology Law Section.


Subscribing

Annual section membership includes a subscription to the journal. The subscription price for nonmembers is $85 per year (additional costs apply if mailed outside the United States). More membership information is available.

Submitting Your Work

Authors may submit articles, letters, and other communications of interest to Jurimetrics' readers during most times of the year. Further submission information for authors is available.

The Loevinger prize for articles published in Jurimetrics

Jurimetrics seeks quality papers in any field of law and science. To encourage the most outstanding submissions, the Board of Editors administers the Loevinger Prize, named in honor of Lee Loevinger, Esq., a founder of the journal. Mr. Loevinger was a past chair of the ABA Science & Technology Law Section, former associate justice of the Supreme Court of Minnesota, former United States assistant attorney general (Antitrust Division) and former FCC commissioner.

The prize of $1,000 is awarded to the author of an article published in Jurimetrics that is judged to make the best contribution to the field. All authors who publish in Jurimetrics are automatically eligible (except for the journal's editors and staff, faculty at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, Arizona State University members of the Board of Editors and the Section's Council).
