Ross-Blakley Law Library Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, Arizona State University
The Bibliographic Services Librarian is responsible for cataloging, classification and maintenance of library materials. Supervises 2.0 FTE support staff and .25 FTE student workers. The Bibliographic Services Librarian reports to the Associate Dean for Information Technology and the Ross-Blakley Law Library.
Responsible for original cataloging and classification of law library materials in all languages, in all formats, in all media, in accordance with AACR2R, OCLC input standards, LCSH and LC Classification. Utilizes metadata schemes to organize and provide access to collections. Coordinates authority control as necessary.
Oversees cataloging related functions, ILS database maintenance, workflow and special projects.
Provides leadership role in development, implementation and evaluation of cataloging/ and bibliographic service policies and procedures within the cataloging unit Develops appropriate documentation to memorialize these policies and procedures.
Works with the Innovative Interfaces integrated library system and Connexion client.
Required Qualifications: MLS from an ALA accredited school by time of appointment. Demonstrated knowledge of AACR2, LCSH, LC Classification, particularly K schedules, MARC formats, LC practice. Experience with OCLC or RLIN. Demonstrated knowledge of integrated library systems.
Desired Qualifications: Demonstrated knowledge of Integrated Interfaces Inc. Millennium. Demonstrated experience cataloging legal materials, in print and electronic formats.
