Facman Bring Holiday Cheer
Bing Crosby's got nothing on ASU's Facman, a group of Facilities Management Building technicians who on Friday performed holiday tunes around the ASU campus.
About 50 employees of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law gathered in the Rotunda to hear the sextet - Tom Bailey, John Higbee, Allan Crouch, Kim Chamberlain, Jim Trhlik and Louie Flores - croon the classics, from Angels We Have Heard on High and Feliz Navidad to Silver Bells (the singers' substantial key rings provided accompaniment) and the Arizona-flavored, Living in a Phoenix Wonderland.
Facman was formed 10 years ago by the now-retired Raul Zubia, and two original members remain, Bailey and Higbee. They joined their baritone friends in various festive dress, faux beards, Santa hats and loud ties, and coaxed audience members into a sing-along.
"We want to help lift moral of ASU employees and tell them how much we appreciate them," Higbee said.
Check back next week for audio and video of the festivities.
