Students argue, hear ASU Supreme Court case
Two students at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law were involved in a recent case before the ASU Supreme Court, according to a recent story on the ASU Web Devil Web site.
Second-year student Terence Whatley represented Shawn Casher, an undergraduate student who was disqualified from a run-off election for student government after alleged campaign violations.
Casher was seeking a new election, and Whatley argued that the ruling was unfair, that many of the complaints did not have adequate proof, and that the complaints should be considered minor violations.
Third-year law student Alastair Gamble, sitting as Supreme Court Justice, said the court ruled that a new election would be inappropriate. The decision was not unanimous, Gamble said.
