'ASU in the community' profiles Immigration Clinic
A story and photos about the Immigration Law & Policy Clinic at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law is featured prominently at ASU in the community, an online resource of the university's community outreach program.
The article, by feature writer Michael Jung and headlined, "ASU Law Students Represent Children in Immigration Cases," focuses on the work law students, under the guidance of Evelyn Cruz, an associate clinical professor and the clinic's director, have done with the Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project.
“The amount of work the students put in benefits the whole system of representation for children in Arizona," Aryah Somers, the project's children’s attorney, told Jung. "It’s difficult for some pro bono attorneys to dedicate the amount of time the students do, and without the clinic we wouldn’t be able to continue working on all the cases we need to.”
