A story appearing Dec. 10 on Cuba's Web site 'Periodico.cu' entitled, "Initiative Threatens Children of Undocumented in US" quotes Evelyn Cruz, the College's director of the Immigration Law & Policy Clinic. The article explains that the "Birthright Citizenship Alignment Act" will take away the right to a birth certificate to children born in the U.S. of undocumented alien parents. Cruz is quoted as saying, "If they (the children) are born in the United States, they are United States citizens, period, and every U.S. citizen has the right to their birth certificate."
