Nine alumni to be considered for Superior Court appointment

 

     Nine College of Law alumni have applied for retiring Judge Gregory Martin's position on the Superior Court bench in Maricopa County, according to an article by John McLean headlined, "Superior Court retirement brings 33 applicants," which appeared in the Arizona Business Gazette's Dec. 13 edition.
     The applications include David O. Cunanan (Class of '92), Donna L. Elm (Class of '88), Jeffrey R. Finley (Class of '84), Sean Kelly (Class of '00), Kirby D. Kongable (Class of '76), C. Steven McMurry (Class of '78), Carolyn K. Passamonte (Class of '92), Jay M. Polk (Class of '92), and Lori A. Zirkle (Class of '93).  They will be considered by the Maricopa County Commission on Trial Court Appointments at 9 a.m. on Jan. 11 at the Arizona State Courts Building.  Members of the public may submit comments on applicants in person at the meeting or by sending them to 1501 W. Washington, Suite 221, Phoenix, AZ 85007, or by e-mail to jnc@courts.az.gov.
     Interviews will be conducted on Jan. 29, and the committee will recommend three nominees to Gov. Janet Napolitano, who will make the appointment.
