Law student grappling with Super Bowl

Super Bowl, not studies, taking law student's time

While his peers are learning about search and seizure and power of attorney, Dan Vertlieb's attention has been focused on getting the most bang for the buck for Arizona from Super Bowl XLII.
Vertlieb, a student at the College of Law, is a media and public relations consultant for the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee. The Super Bowl is Feb. 3 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.
According to an article in The Kingston (Ontario) Whig-Standard, Vertlieb, a Vancouver native, was in his first semester of law school in 2006, when a Super Bowl host committee member spoke at Armstrong Hall. Vertlieb, a former radio and television sports announcer in Canada, created a legal internship with the committee, which turned into a full-time job, according to the article, "Super career move; Queen's grad having a Bowl working in Arizona."
Vertlieb took a leave of absence from law school a year ago to coordinate events, promote the state and see to it that media members from around the world have everything they need.
He plans to return to law school this summer.
