Forty-one high school seniors participated in the recent
moot court competition held at the College of Law.

Forty-one seniors from South Mountain High School recently competed in a moot court competition at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law organized by law students Jillian Tse, Rikke Liska, Lisa Reilly and Rob Gordon.

More than 50 law students and alumni, along with professors Tamara Herrera and Marcy Karin, served as judges in the Feb. 20 competition. Students argued a case based on a Fourth Amendment issue involving the search of a student suspected of cheating.

Eight finalists -- Shanelle Rivers, Marissa Delgado, Luis Lopez, Daniel Nassar, Marisol Ayala, Alexandra Boggs, Alejandro Pulido, and Jordan Dennis -- will travel to Philadelphia on March 19-21 to compete in the Second Annual Marshall Brennan National Moot Court Competition.

Rikke also organized a student panel on higher education and a question-and-answer session with a member of the ASU admissions staff.

The event was sponsored by Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education.
