The fifth edition of
Introduction to Legal Method and Process
, a clear and useful casebook about the processes of law by Professors
Michael Berch
and Ralph Spritzer, recently was published. The book is co-authored by Arizona Supreme Court Chief Justice Rebecca White Berch (Class of 1979) and new author, Jessica J. Berch.
Topics in the book include how the common law works, an anatomy of a legal dispute, the analysis and synthesis of judicial decisions, an introduction to criminal justice processes, and units on the interpretation of statutes and the limited role of federal courts.
Ralph Spritzer
Michael Berch is a Professor at the College and an Honors Disciplinary Faculty member of Barrett, The Honors College at ASU. Since 1969, he has taught a wide variety of courses, including Federal Courts, Civil Procedure, Conflict of Laws, Law and the Regulatory State and Professional Responsibility. He has coached many of ASU’s winning Moot Court teams and has written extensively.
Ralph Spritzer has been teaching courses in criminal procedure, antitrust, regulated industries and litigation for more than 40 years, since 1986 at the College of Law and before that, at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he is Professor Emeritus.
