Michael Ahearn

Michael Ahearn, a graduate of ASU and ’82 alumnus of the College of Law, sold nearly half of his stock in First Solar Inc. and stepped down as its CEO, according to an article in the Arizona Republic.

Ahearn founded First Solar in 1999, and the company went public in 2006. Ahearn made the decision to step down so that he “could focus on lobbying for more solar-friendly policies in the U.S.” He still holds the position of Chairman with the company.
