C. Hessick to appear tonight on 'Horizon'

Associate Professor Carissa Byrne Hessick will be a guest on Channel 8’s Horizon on Thursday, Sept. 30. The program is scheduled to air at 7 p.m. on the local PBS affiliate.

Hessick will talk about the College of Law’s upcoming national immigration conference, on Friday, Oct. 8, in the Great Hall of Armstrong Hall. The conference, “The role of the states in immigration policy and enforcement,” will feature a renowned panel of professors from around the country who research and write about immigration issues, as well as other experts in the field.

The conference will be opened by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor (ret.), and the keynote address, “How Arizona Became Ground Zero in the Nation's War on Immigrants,” will be delivered by Douglas S. Massey, the Henry G. Bryant Professor of Sociology and Public Affairs at Princeton University.
