Dickinson chapter published in ‘Comparative Administrative Law’

Laura A. Dickinson
, Faculty Director of the Center for Law and Global Affairs at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, recently was published in the volume,
Comparative Administrative Law
. The chapter is titled, “Organizational Structure and Institutional Culture in an Era of Privatization: The Case of Private Military Contractors in the United States.”
In her chapter, Dickinson discusses the important role military lawyers play in producing legal norms on the battlefield. She also discusses the impact a lack of these institutional actors has on private security firms. As a whole, the book offers a comprehensive overview of the field of comparative administrative law.
Dickinson’s work focuses on human rights, national security, foreign affairs privatization and qualitative empirical approaches to international law. She is a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a member of the Executive Council of the American Society of International Law.
