Gary Marchant

Professor Gary Marchant, Executive Director of the Center for Law, Science & Innovation, will give a presentation at the Commonwealth Judicial Education Institute in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on Thursday, June 9. Marchant will talk about emerging technologies and the future of law at a meeting of judicial educators from around the world.

Marchant is the ASU Lincoln Professor of Emerging Technologies, Law and Ethics. His research interests include the use of genetic information in environmental regulation, risk and the precautionary principle, legal aspects of personalized medicine, and regulation of emerging technologies such as nanotechnology, neuroscience and biotechnology. Marchant also is a Senior Sustainability Scientist at ASU’s Global Institute of Sustainability and a professor in ASU’s School of Life Sciences.
