Berch questioned the wisdom of such a move, telling reporter Kyle Daly that most faculty members would not be qualified to handle guns, even with training and testing.
"There would be more accidents than there would be benefits with guns on the campus," he said, noting he wouldn't want to be in the company of a gun-toting colleague.
"There are some people (at ASU) who can't even drive a car," he said jokingly, "and you're going to give them a gun?"
