Gary Birnbaum, Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Program Development, was interviewed recently about impact fees on National Public Radio - KJZZ.

Birnbaum said that a new two-year freeze on impact fee increases, designed to help fund infrastructure,  has handcuffed cities, leaving them no way to pay for parks or police stations and other services.

"Where is the money going to come from," Birnbaum told reporter J. Peter O'Dowd. "The answer is always the same, the general fund. That means more taxes somewhere for somebody."
