Law student pens feature in 'Arizona Attorney'

Brian L. Lewis, a third-year student in the Indian Legal Program at the College of Law, has published an article in the January edition of Arizona Attorney about respected bankruptcy attorney and nonagenarian Anthony O. "Tony" Jones.

In "A Series of Lucky Occurrences," Lewis chronicled Jones' 50-year-plus legal career, which began in 1936 when he became the sole clerk of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Phoenix. He also clerked for U.S. Sen. Henry Fountain of Arizona, who chaired the Senate Judiciary Committee, enrolled in night classes at National Law School in Washington, D.C., and eventually became known as the "Dean of the Arizona Bankruptcy Bar."
