Askland quoted in ASU publication
Andrew Askland
An article in
Chain Reaction
, ASU's science magazine for children, featured comments about genetics and the law from the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law's Andrew Askland.
Askland, director of the College's Center for the Study of Law, Science, & Technology, told writer Diane Boudreau that recent advancements in obtaining human genetic information has resulted in new legal minefields that need to be understood and navigated by lawyers, judges and lawmakers.
"The practice of law bumps into science and technology in ways that it previously did not," Askland said.
The article, headlined, "Crosslink: Who Owns Your Genes?", was included in an edition of
Chain Reaction
devoted to biotechnology.
