The relocation of the Arizona Justice Project to the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law was reported on March 21 in the ASU State Press.
The article, headlined "New trials, new hope in program," and written by reporter Andre Radzischewski, was about the project, made possible by a $150,000 grant from the Arizona State Bar's non-profit foundation, the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education, and its work. The project is dedicated to exonerating those wrongfully convicted and correcting other manifest injustices.
The project is a rare opportunity for students to be involved in real-life legal procedures, said Carrie Sperling, executive director and a visiting associate clinical professor at the College of Law.
"We've had many students in the past representing clients before the Board of Clemency," Sperling said. "[This] hands-on experience is one that most of them aren't going to get in law school."
