Marcy Karin, Associate Clinical Professor, and Director of the Work-Life Policy Unit in the Civil Justice Clinic, will be the lead presenter on a Webinar that Georgetown University is providing for alumni in January.
Karin, who will be joined by Emily Benfer, Supervising Attorney at Georgetown's Federal Legislation Clinic, will discuss workplace flexibility at the national policy level and share information about new initiatives from the Obama Administration and Capitol Hill on flexible work arrangements, time off and career re-entry.
"There is often a serious mismatch between the way workplaces are structured and the day-to-day realities of working families," according to a description of the Webinar. "This mismatch results in many American workers struggling to succeed at work while they attempt to meet the demands of their personal lives. Policymakers and other stakeholders have demonstrated a renewed interest in addressing this problem and have acknowledged the need for increased workplace flexibility solutions that make a difference for employers, employees, and communities."
