Marchant to address D.C. conference

Gary Marchant
Gary Marchant
Gary Marchant will participate in a panel discussion on Monday, Sept. 15, at a conference sponsored by George Mason University entitled, "21st Century Regulation: Discovering Better Solutions for Enduring Problems."
Marchant, executive director of the College's Center for the Study of Law, Science, & Technology, will be on the panel, "Regulation in a Changing World: Lessons for Regulating New Technology and Solving Social Problems in Innovative Ways." He will advance the idea that, by insisting new technologies be treated in the same way as existing technologies, regulation won't unduly impede development of these highly-valued new technologies.
The conference is being hosted by the university's Mercatus Center, which works to bridge the gap that often exists between economic understanding and real-world decision making.
