Hinshaw to speak at Civil Discourse Conference
Art Hinshaw
Art Hinshaw, Director of the Lodestar Dispute Resolution Program, will speak at the conference, "Can We Talk? Tools for Creating Civil Discourse," on Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Arizona Biltmore Resort, 2400 E. Missouri Ave., in Phoenix.
The conference on methods for cultivating civil discourse in diverse settings is sponsored by the Arizona Chapter of the Association for Conflict Resolution and is a Project Civil Discourse event. Project Civil Discourse, a statewide effort to create respectful dialogue and discourse on public issues, is the brainchild of Bruce E. Meyerson, a full-time mediator, arbitrator, trainer and facilitator in Phoenix who also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the College of Law.
The conference will include case studies and successful models, interactive workshops, and a keynote address, "Deliberative Democracy & Dispute Resolution: Making the Connection," by Richard C. Reuben, a law professor from the University of Missouri.
