Professor Gary Marchant
Marchant, Executive Director of the College of Law's Center for the Study of Law, Science, & Technology, will join other experts on "How Genomic Medicine is Changing the Management of Breast and Ovarian Cancer." According to Earthtimes.org, 150 people in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer every hour, but there is a growing number of people who are undergoing genetic testing to discover and manage their risks for cancer, rather than waiting for diagnoses.
The Webcast will be moderated by Steven A.R. Murphy, Clinical Genetics Fellow at Yale School of Medicine and managing partner of Helix Health, sponsor of the event. Other panelists are David Ewing Duncan, an author, Director of the Center for Life Sciences Policy at the University of California, Berkeley, and co-host of NPR's Biotech Nation; Jennifer Ibrahim, a clinical geneticist specializing in preconception genetics and familiar cancer syndromes; Barbara A. Ward, Director of The Breast Center of Greenwich Hospital and a surgical oncologist affiliated with Yale-New Haven Health System, and Jessica Queller, an author and television writer.
Registration for the Webcast is limited; go to http://event.netbriefings.com/event/helixhealth/register.html
