Bender explains executive privilege on ‘Horizon’

Paul Bender
, appearing on Eight’s Horizon on June 21, explained “executive privilege,” a power President Obama recently invoked to avoid turning over to Congress certain Justice Department documents related to the botched anti-gun smuggling operation known as “Fast and Furious.” Bender also discussed the U.S. Supreme Court’s process for issuing opinions.
Bender teaches courses on U.S. and Arizona constitutional law. He has written extensively about constitutional law, intellectual property and Indian law, and is coauthor of the two-volume casebook/treatise,
Political and Civil Rights in the United States
. Bender has argued more than 20 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, and actively participates in constitutional litigation in federal and state courts.
