Former Colorado Lt. Governor Joe Rogers was remembered this week in Colorado. He died suddenly on October 7, at age 49.
He was sworn in as Colorado's lieutenant governor in 1999 and served until 2002. He was the youngest American elected as a state lieutenant governor and Colorado's second African-American lieutenant governor. Rogers graduated from the College of Law in 1989. After law school, Rogers practiced law for four years with the Colorado firm of Davis, Gramm & Stubbs. He then served as general counsel to former Colorado U.S. Senator Hank Brown.
