Douglas Sylvester
, Dean of the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, was quoted in an article for The Daily Caller by staff writer Eric Owens on Dec. 3.

The article explores a proposal that would allow Arizona law students to take the bar exam before graduation, midway through their last year of law school. Proponents of the measure say students could lower their loan debt significantly and be considered more quickly for a job out of college.

Sylvester, along with other high-ranking law professionals, including the dean of the University of Arizona’s James E. Rogers College of Law and Arizona’s Chief Justice were consulted about the proposal.

“For me, the economic benefit for students is great,” Sylvester said. “Anything we can do in a soft market to get more people jobs quickly is something we want to pursue.”
