Marchant to present at council meeting in Arkansas

, ASU Lincoln Professor of Emerging Technologies, Law and Ethics, and Executive Director of the Center for Law, Science & Innovation, will speak to the Arkansas Administrative Office of the Courts at the annual Fall Judicial Council Meeting on Oct. 20, in Eureka Springs, Ark.

Marchant will present “Emerging Technologies and the Future of the Law,” which will describe pending technological revolutions and their future impact in the courtroom.

Marchant’s research interests include the use of genetic information in environmental regulation, risk and the precautionary principle, legal aspects of personalized medicine, and regulation of emerging technologies such as nanotechnology, neuroscience and biotechnology. He teaches courses in Environmental Law, Law, Science & Technology, Genetics and the Law, Biotechnology: Science, Law and Policy, and Nanotechnology Law & Policy.
