Marchant a panelist at University of Minnesota life sciences consortium

Gary Marchant
Gary Marchant, ASU Lincoln Professor of Emerging Technologies, Law and Ethics and Executive Director of the Center for Law, Science & Innovation, served on a panel at a conference on Nanodiagnostics and Nanotherapeutics: Building Research Ethics and Oversight at the University of Minnesota on Sept. 26 in Minneapolis, Minn.
The conference focused on protecting human participants in research on nanomedicine products, including drugs, devices and gene therapy. Marchant spoke specifically on “Applying Prudent Precaution to Nanomedicine Clinical Trials.”
Marchant’s research interests include the use of genetic information in environmental regulation, risk and the precautionary principle, legal aspects of personalized medicine, and regulation of emerging technologies such as nanotechnology, neuroscience and biotechnology. He teaches courses in Environmental Law, Law, Science & Technology, Genetics and the Law, Biotechnology: Science, Law and Policy, and Nanotechnology Law & Policy.
