New Homeowner Advocacy Unit at College of Law hires assistant director

The Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University has added staff to its Civil Justice Clinic’s Homeowner Advocacy Unit, a new program that was created in response to the foreclosure crisis.
Andrea Esquer
, a 2011 graduate of the College of Law, was named assistant director of the unit, in which student attorneys have begun representing families facing wrongful foreclosure or victims of mortgage fraud scams. The students also engage in advocacy and community outreach on foreclosure law and related issues.
Esquer has significant experience in state and federal government, as press secretary for former Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard, and as Associate Deputy Director for White House Presidential Personnel, among other positions.
