Hodge quoted in Cronkite News
James G. Hodge Jr.
James G. Hodge Jr.,
ASU Lincoln Professor of Health Law and Ethics, was quoted in an article in Cronkite News by Kirsten Adams on Thursday, Feb. 21.
The article, “Bill would move state toward implementing Affordable Care Act,” explores HB 2550, which would address the regulation of the health insurance industry in Arizona and set areas within which insurers will establish rates for individual and small-group policies.
The proposal is more an act of compliance, according to Hodge.
“The statement, if anything is, ‘We’re attempting to comply with the Affordable Care Act,’” Hodge said. “States are making selective choices based on what they feel provides them the best level of control.”
The law provides states with opportunities to implement some initiatives without their own exchanges, Hodge said.
