The Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University recently named Jim Van Wicklin as Director of Development. Van Wicklin has extensive experience in non-profit fundraising, management and volunteer recruitment.

In his career, Van Wicklin has helped to secure more than $40 million in support through donations, sponsorships and planned giving programs for leading universities and other non-profits. He was part of two successful building campaigns, one for $42 million and another for $120 million.

He most recently served at the University of South Florida where he was director of development for the College of Medicine and the College of the Arts, where he helped complete a $600 million capital campaign.

“Jim thinks and executes on a scale and with a professionalism that fits perfectly with our trajectory as a law school,” said Douglas J. Sylvester, dean of the College of Law. “His enthusiasm for our exciting future -- from the Arizona Center for Law and Society, the planned downtown Phoenix building that will house the law school, to the teaching law firm and all the many other aspects of our institution -- is absolutely contagious.”

Prior to the University of South Florida, Van Wicklin was development officer and director of development at Middle Tennessee State University. He earned his undergraduate degree from Middle Tennessee State in 1999 and his M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix.
