Clinical Professor Marcy Karin was quoted in a July 9 article in the Arizona Republic, “Why Arizona isn't a good place for working parents,” by reporter Ryan Van Velzer.
The article examined a June report that gives Arizona a failing grade for its policies toward helping working parents. Karin the director of the Work-Life Policy Unit and Civil Justice Clinic at the College of Law, advised more can be done on the state-level to help Arizona families.
"The problem with Arizona's laws are that they failed to address areas where there are no federal protections," Karin said, in the article. "Arizona has done more for its public sector work places and in some ways has tried to lead by example, but there is more than can be done in public and private sectors."
