Community mourns Judge Moeller's passing

  Robert Moeller

Robert Moeller, 68, of Phoenix, and alum of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, passed away on August 9th, 2014 at Hospice of Valley Ryan House. 

In his earlier career, Moeller was an attorney for the Federal Government Department of Interior specializing in Bureau of Indian Affairs. At the time of his death, Moeller had been the Chief Judge of the Chemehuevi Indian Tribal Court for 15 years and was a Justice on the Appeals Court of the Colorado River Indian Tribes. He was remembered as a blessing to the Chukchansi Indian tribe by the clerk of the court.

In addition to his specialization in Indian law, Moeller was a Colorado River water rights legal consultant in Arizona and California. He graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Masters in History and a J.D. from Arizona State University. He is survived by his Sister Margie, four nieces and three nephews.
