The College of Law has a very strong faculty in philosophy of law.  This strength is supplemented by an exceptional group of affiliated faculty in philosophy and political theory.  The Committee on Law and Philosophy (COLAP) organizes lectures, conferences, and courses in legal and political philosophy.  Particular areas of strength include criminal law theory, punishment, forgiveness, constitutional interpretation, human rights theory, law and literature, law and religion, and political obligation.
