Many aspects of business have legal implications, ranging from forming a company, to hiring an employee, or signing a contract. As a result, understanding the legal system and legal issues that arise most frequently can provide a critical advantage to those in the business world. The concurrent MLS/Business Degree program offered by the W.P. Carey School of Business and the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law provides a quick and relatively inexpensive opportunity for business students to become well-versed in a wide variety of legal areas, including contract law, employment law, tax law and administrative law. Through a range of on-line and in-person classes, students in this innovative concurrent-degree program will learn the core legal concepts that they will encounter as well as the vocabulary of the law, enabling them to identify legal issues as they arise and to communicate effectively with the lawyers they may hire one day.
