The purpose of the organization is to promote the role of women in the legal profession, to help provide mutual support and encouragement to members, and to engage in activities that enhance the role of women in society.

With more than 120 members, the Women Law Students’ Association (WLSA) works to achieve this goal by organizing two separate mentor programs: WLSA runs a student mentor program and an attorney mentor program. WLSA also provides first year law students with advice on exam taking and outlining. Throughout the year, WLSA hosts numerous events, including speaker panels, lunch with female faculty, dinner with the Dean, tea with Justice O’Connor, a silent auction for domestic violence shelters in the Phoenix area, a symposium for the legal community complete with CLE credits, a Halloween party for a local domestic violence shelter, pro bono work and social events.
