Andy Grewal served as a Visiting Assistant Professor from 2009 to 2011. Professor Grewal, who has an undergraduate degree in economics from Williams College, a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School, and an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, came to the law school after practicing tax law at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in Washington, D.C.
The ASU VAP Program helped Professor Grewal obtain a tenure track job at the University of Iowa College of Law. As he explained:
“This program differs from many others because you are encouraged to teach courses in your own areas of research. Many law schools use VAPs or fellows to teach first-year legal writing, but I was given considerable freedom to teach courses related to my own research interests.”
“A great VAP program, like ASU’s, helps you feel much more confident when looking for a tenure-track position.”
