Daniel Rothenberg

Daniel Rothenberg, Executive Director of the Center for Law and Global Affairs, recently wrote an article for Zocalo Public Square entitled, “Iraqi Justice: A Forgotten War’s Overlooked Heroes.”

The article was inspired by a speech given by Medhat al-Mahmoud, the chief justice of Iraq and president of the Iraqi Higher Judicial Council, who recently spoke at the annual conference of Arizona state judges at the state bar association’s annual meeting. In the article, Rothenberg describes in riveting detail how the process of legal reconstruction in Iraq proceeded despite countless murders and kidnapping of judges and their staffs.
