Marchant speaks at National Workshop for District Judges in Boston

, Faculty Director of the College of Law’s Center for Law, Science & Innovation, spoke at the National Workshop for District Judges on Monday, April 30, in Boston.
Marchant’s presentation titled, “Emerging Technology and the Future of Law,” kicked off the three-day conference which included 50 judges, law professors and other speakers in sessions on forensic science, hot topics in criminal law, neuroscience and law, judicial ethics and sentencing, among others. Among other speakers at the workshop, presented by the Federal Judicial Center, were Erwin Chemerinsky, Founding Dean of the University of California Irvine School of Law, and Kenneth Starr, President of Baylor University.
Marchant, an ASU Lincoln Professor of merging Technologies, Law and Ethics, frequently lectures about the intersection of law and science at national and international conferences. He has authored more than 60 articles and book chapters on various issues relating to emerging technologies. Among other activities, he has served on two National Research Council committees, has been the principal investigator on several major grants, and has organized numerous academic conferences on law and science issues.
