Zig Popko
A new edition of a book on federal sentencing, co-written by Clinical Professor
Zig Popko
and three others, was recently released by West Publishing.
The book, “Federal Sentencing Law and Practice, 2013 ed.,” was originally published in 2009. It is a quick-reference guide that provides detailed analysis of topics such as white-collar crime and the sentencing of organizations, plus research-enhancing analysis of recent cases.
In the 2013 edition, new features include exploring the latest developments, illustrating the application and source of each legal proposition, examining the factors used in determining the guideline range, nature of the offensive conduct, possible adjustments to the guideline sentence, the defendant's criminal history, how a particular sentence is calculated, and procedures for plea agreements.
Popko is the founding director of the College of Law’s Post-Conviction Clinic and teaches a sentencing seminar and workshop.
