Public Health Law Network – Western Region, will address a meeting hosted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, on Tuesday, March 20, in Atlanta.

Hodge will provide a “Legal Analysis of NTLs (Nurse Triage Lines): Identifying Legal Barriers and Opportunities” at the meeting, which is co-hosted by Association of State and Territorial Health Officials and the National Association of County and City Health Officials.

The goal of the meeting is to engage stakeholders to synthesize findings about the acceptability and feasibility of a new coordinated system of nurse triage telephone lines for use during a pandemic, and to identify challenges, barriers and solutions for next steps.

Hodge is Director of the College of Law’s Public Health Law and Policy Program and a Faculty Fellow in the Center for Law, Science & Innovation. He also is an Affiliate Professor of Global Health in the ASU School of Human Evolution & Social Change, in School of Public Affairs and in the Department of Biomedical Informatics. Through scholarship, teaching, and applied projects, Hodge delves into multiple areas of health law, public health law, global health law, ethics and human rights. He teaches Health Law, Ethics, and Policy, Public Health Law and Ethics, and Global Health Law and Policy at the College of Law. In September 2010, he was named Director of the Public Health Law Network - Western Region, one of five centers nationally funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Hodge also directs ASU’s Public Health Law and Policy Program, a leading academic center of scholarship and service in public health law and policy nationally.
