Gartner to present at law conference in D.C.

David Gartner
will give a presentation titled, “The World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and Institutional Transparency,” at the American Society of International Law’s Biennial Conference on at The George Washington University Law School in Washington D.C.
The title of the Dec. 1 conference is “Re-Conceptualizing International Economic Law: Bridging the Public/Private Divide.”
According to conference organizers, international economic law purports to regulate and facilitate various cross-border business activities, such as exports and imports, financial transactions and foreign direct investment.

Gartner teaches constitutional law, international institutions, foreign relations law and global health law and policy. His current research focuses on the role of innovative international institutions and non-state actors in shaping international law and the response to global challenges in areas such as global health, development, education and the environment.
